Message from The Party Chair
Dear Friends:
Thank you for electing me to the position of Chair of the Denver Democratic Party. I am honored to serve you over the next two years. I also am honored to serve with Rachel Kienzler as Vice Chair, Dan Willis as Secretary, and Andrew Oh-Willeke as Treasurer.
We have a big job ahead of us! Over the next two years we’ve got to turn up the heat to ensure that another Democrat gets elected to the Senate, and that all nine of
We will provide leadership, we will provide a vision, we will provide a pragmatic plan of action to increase turnout and ensure that our nine electoral votes are blue in 2008.
But we cannot do it alone.
It’s time for each of us to throw your hat over wall and take action, not 90 days away from the Election, but every day of the year.
We are the ones we’ve been waiting for!
We are the ones who are going to knock on just one more door, make one more call, or turn out just one more voter to make sure we have a Democrat in the White House in 2008.
We are the ones who are going to make history, not 90 away from Election Day but every day of the year.
As Bob Herbert said in his recent New York Times column:
“The biggest most far-reaching changes of the past century – the labor movement, the civil rights movement, the women’s movement – were not primarily the result of elective politics, but rather the hard work of committed citizen-activists.”
I invite you to get involved in your House District as a Precinct Committee Person, as a volunteer who’s willing to run a voter registration drive in the next six months or as part of one of the many county-wide committees we’ll be unveiling over the next few months. We need your participation on every level!
Once again thank you for your confidence and I look forward to a rewarding and productive two years.
Sincerely,
Jennifer S. Coken
Chair,
