Assistant Secretary, Democratic Party of Denver

Title: Assistant Secretary
 
Serve in a leadership role as a member of the County Board of Officers (four elected, two appointed), the Executive Committee, and the Central Committee.  Actively engage Denver Democrats in electing Democratic leaders and supporting core Democratic values and principles.  Work on communications, committee supervision, Party organization, and more.
 

Captain at Large Committee Leaders

Captain at Large Volunteer Coordinator

Title:   Volunteer Captain at Large
 
Duties: The Volunteer Captain at Large (CAL) is our first line of contact with new volunteers and is in charge of letting existing volunteers know about events and activities for which the Denver Democratic Party needs help to organize and run.
 
When volunteers sign up over the Internet the Volunteer CAL is responsible for replying to that volunteer to get more information and to suggest which other CAL or House District Captain could be use the volunteer’s assistance. The Volunteer CAL also is responsible for entering data on new volunteers into our volunteer database.
 
When there is a major event or meeting, the Volunteer CAL helps write the request for volunteers that goes out in our weekly email. The Volunteer CAL also maintains the Volunteer portal page where all volunteer opportunities are promoted.
 
If available, the Volunteer CAL will attend major events and personally greet and work with volunteers that have been recruited for that event.
 
Skills/characteristics:
·         Good people skills.
·         Must be organized.
·         Able to explain clearly what volunteer tasks are available.
·         Be able to use or learn to use our database – Colorado VAN.
·         Self starting and have good ideas how to recruit, motivate, and work with volunteers.
 
 
Commitment: 2-4 hours a week, with unlimited opportunity for more.
All CALs are members of the Executive Committee and are expected to attend the monthly meetings. Also, the Chair calls CAL and officer meeting about once every other month. CALs also organize and meet with their own committees as is needed to accomplish the special committee tasks assigned to each CAL.

County Treasurer

COUNTY TREASURER
The County Treasurer is the fourth elected officer of the Democratic Party of Denver and its Chief Financial Officer. In addition to demonstrated leadership skills, additional position requirements include the ability to organize and lead task-oriented groups of volunteers; knowledge of accounting and financial management practices, tools and techniques; and
familiarity with computer based accounting systems (we use Quick Books), spreadsheet and database information management systems.
 
The Treasurer is responsible for 1) overseeing every dollar
coming in or going out of the Party; 2) any and all reporting
stemming therefrom; and 3) ensuring that all funds raised and
expenditures made comply with the Party rules, state and federal laws.

Denver County Chair

DEMOCRATIC PARTY OF DENVER CHAIR
The County Party Chair is the face of the party, and should
provide vision and leadership for the strategic direction of the
party. Along with the Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer,
Assistant Secretary and Assistant Treasurer, it is up to the Chair
to ensure each is willing, able and does provide leadership,
represents the County Party at official events, meetings, rallies,
etc., helps guide Denver Democrats to become active or more
active, takes on responsibility and leadership roles, and
maintains mutual communication from the Officers on down to
PCP's and volunteers.

Denver County Vice Chair

DENVER COUNTY VICE CHAIR
The County Party Vice Chair is the Chair's main support, and can be as much the face of the Party as the Chair. The description for this position, as stated in the party rules, is to "assist the Chair in all duties; preside at any meeting of the Central and Executive Committees in the absence of the Chair; and perform other duties as requested by the Chair."

House Sub-district Finance Chair

House Sub-district Finance Chair
A Finance Chair shall be appointed by the Captain and Co-Captain of each Sub District at or after each Bienniel Organization Meeting. If the position of Finance Chair is vacant for ninety (90) days, the Chair may fill the
vacancy. The Finance Chair shall have a vote on the Executive Committee.
