Web Portal Manager - Several Needed

Title: Web Portal Manager

Duties: The Web Portal Manager (WPM) is kind of like a Web Master, but not exactly.  Each House District and several Captains at Large Committees have their own set of web pages.  The WPM, using a very easy upload process, posts news articles, photos, and documents to the web important to the committee on which the WPM works.  This information lets the public know what is going on in the House District or on the committee.

Skills/characteristics: WEB or HTML skills are NOT required.  You do not have to have web experience to do this job.  You do have to have good overall computer skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow directions just like using a recipe to cook a cake - precisely.  Experience browsing the Internet and using various web applications like Facebook or on-line shopping is very helpful.  You should also have good writing and editing skills.

Commitment: You will need to 3 – 5 hours initially to get trained on how to use our Content Management System and how to upload news articles and photos.  The training will probably be done in two sessions unless you are really, really quick at learning new computer systems.  Once you are trained we would hope that you would attend your committee’s monthly meeting.  It will probably take 2 to 4 hours of effort on the average every two weeks keep the web pages up-to-date.  The good news is that this can be done at any time day or night.

Contact Person:  The House District Captain or the Captain at Large in charge of the committee for which you choose to volunteer.
