Remember to attend your PRECINCT CAUCUS ON MARCH 6!
Submitted by kathy_steinberg on Sat, 02/04/2012 - 1:33pmDenver Democrats will hold their precinct caucuses on March 6, beginning at 6 p.m. We will have 3 locations: Place Bridge Academy, Hamilton Middle School and Thomas Jefferson High School. Has your precinct changed as a result of reapportionment? Excellent maps exist and are accessible through the Denver Dems homepage (denverdemocrats.net) - the Reapportionment Center link. You should also receive an official notice from the office of the Denver Clerk and Recorder. Watch for publication of caucus locations for our specific precincts.
The officers are working hard to contact all PCPs and as many registered dems as possible to remind them to attend their precinct caucuses - Remember - this is grassroots politics at work!! Please contact Juliette Hidahl (303-757-1346) or Roger Armstrong (303-221-1151) if you can help with these phone calls.
HD9 Monthly Meeting - January 28
Submitted by kathy_steinberg on Tue, 01/24/2012 - 1:01am
Calvary Baptist Church, 6500 East Girard Ave, Denver
** Time to Stock your Election Year Conversational Toolbox…. Or, A Primer on POLITICAL MESSAGING!! **
Why do people vote against their own self-interest? What causes quick shifts in the political landscape? What can you do about effective advocating your political stands and ideals? How can we best speak about President Obama's and Democratic Congressional accomplishments?
Our investigative reporters, Angie and Juliette, have been on the case and they are ready to bring you the answers.
At our January 28th HD Breakfast meeting we will have a fun, informative presentation and brainstorming session on political messaging – framing, values, simplity, believable, and mental pictures. (Remember the book, "Don't Think of an Elephant," by George S. Lakoff?)
2012 is going to be a busy year - March 6 caucus, Denver Assembly, Get Out the Vote, Phone Banks, etc. Please let one of the officers know if you are willing to volunteer.
On Saturday January 28 from 12:30pm to 5:00pm, you are all invited to attend the Mini Re-Organization of the Denver Democrats. This is an opportunity to re-elect officers related to the realigned House Districts in Denver, look at proposed rule changes, and get trained for attending the March 6 caucus. Only PCPs will be able to vote but all are welcome.
